Appliance Removal in Doraville
We remove old refrigerators, washers, dryers, ranges and water heaters from your home with care for the floors and doorways they pass through. We look first, tell you plainly what the job involves, and give you the price before anything is lifted.

More to it than lifting something heavy
Weight is only part of the problem. A refrigerator may run several hundred pounds and hold refrigerant that has to be handled properly. A washer can still have water sitting in the drum and hoses. A water heater is often tucked into a narrow closet or down basement stairs, and the sediment in it adds weight you cannot see.
So the first step is a look. We check the unit, its connections and each turn on the way to the truck, then explain what we saw and what the job needs. If it turns out easier than you expected, you will hear that. If a gas line has to be capped before we move it, you will hear that as well.
We have handled this work in Doraville and nearby since 2021, and we are licensed and insured, which counts when a big unit is passing your stairs, railings and finished floors.

What the work includes
- 01
A look at the unit and the route
We measure doorways, check stair turns and note anything fragile along the way. This is how we decide whether a door comes off its hinges or a fridge door comes off the cabinet.
- 02
Floor and doorway protection
We lay down runners on hardwood, tile and carpet and pad door frames where clearance is tight. Moving a unit slowly is cheaper than repairing a scuffed jamb.
- 03
Careful disconnection of water hookups
We shut off and unhook standard washer and ice maker supply lines and drain what we can before the move. Gas ranges and dryers need the line shut off and capped by a qualified pro before we arrive.
- 04
Responsible drop-off
Working units can go to donation when they qualify. Others go to recyclers, and refrigerators, freezers and window air conditioners go to facilities that handle refrigerant recovery rather than to a landfill.
- 05
A swept, clean space
After the unit is out, we sweep up the dust and lint that collect behind it. You are left with a clean floor, ready for the new appliance or for nothing at all.
Questions about Appliance Removal?
Call(404) 491-8109Signs it is time to have an appliance hauled away
The new one is on its way
Delivery crews do not always take the old unit, or they charge to do it and want it disconnected and waiting. We can clear the space before your delivery date.
A garage fridge running hot
Second refrigerators in garages work hard through a Georgia summer and often start icing up or cycling constantly. If it costs more to run than it is worth, it is a good one to let go.
Leaks, rust or a burning smell
A washer that leaves water on the floor or a dryer that smells scorched is not worth keeping in your home. Once it is unplugged and cooled, we can take it out.
A dead unit in the basement
Old freezers and water heaters tend to be left downstairs because the stairs feel impossible. With the right approach and the right number of hands, they usually are not.
How the job day runs
- 1
You call and describe the appliance
Tell us what it is, where it sits and whether it is still connected. Same-day and next-day service available, and you can arrange a free on-site estimate if you would rather we see it first.
- 2
We inspect before we quote
On arrival we look over the unit, the hookups and the path out. You hear what we found and get the price before any work starts, with no obligation to go ahead.
- 3
We protect, disconnect and carry
Runners go down, door frames get padding and water lines are shut off and unhooked. The unit leaves on a dolly or by hand, depending on what the stairs and turns allow.
- 4
We clean up and take it to the right place
We sweep the spot where it stood, then deliver the appliance to donation, a recycler or a refrigerant recovery facility as it requires.
What goes into the price
Pricing is upfront with no hidden fees, and you get the figure once we have seen the job. It reflects the actual work, so one dryer beside the garage door costs less than a whole kitchen of appliances carried up a staircase. These are the points we look at.
- How many units, and how big
- A mini fridge and a side-by-side are not the same job. When several appliances go in one visit, they usually split the trip and the labor.
- Where in the house it is
- A ground-level garage is the simplest. Basements, upstairs rooms and tight closets take longer and may call for another set of hands.
- Hookups and condition
- A unit that is unplugged, drained and empty moves quicker. A packed freezer, water left inside or corroded fittings mean more work.
- Anything else going the same day
- Old furniture or general clutter can ride along on the same visit. Our junk removal and furniture removal pages go into those jobs further.
Common appliance removal questions
Does the appliance need to be disconnected before you arrive?
Not for water lines. We can shut off and detach standard washer and ice maker hookups. Gas ranges and gas dryers are another matter: a qualified pro should shut off and cap the gas line before we move them. Electric units just need unplugging, which we can handle.
Do I need to clear out the fridge or freezer?
Please do. Food and liquid make it heavier and can leak onto your floors as we carry it. If possible, unplug it the day before so the ice melts and you can empty the drip pan.
What happens to the old appliance?
That depends on the unit. Working appliances in good condition can go to donation. Others are recycled for the metal, and anything holding refrigerant goes to a facility that recovers it correctly.
Can you bring a heavy unit up from the basement without harming the stairs?
Usually, yes. We check the width of the stairs, the turns and the railings, then choose the dolly, the crew size and the padding. If the move would put your walls or railings at real risk, we tell you directly before starting.
Will you come out for just one appliance?
Yes. Lots of our jobs are one washer or one old garage fridge. If a few other things are waiting too, we can take them on the same trip, which often works out better for you.
How can I tell your crew is careful inside a home?
Customers who let us into their homes have left over 1,200 Google reviews, and plenty of them talk about how the crew handled their floors. Every appliance job gets runners and door frame padding as standard, not as an add-on. If something on the way out looks at risk, we tell you before lifting.

Time to get rid of that old appliance
Let us know the unit and where it is. We will check it, quote a straightforward price and haul it off neatly, often the same day or the next.
